Mary Brown

Mary Brown

Teacher

Mrs. Mary Brown, originally from Kalispell, Montana, has been teaching her whole career (17 years) at Rocky Mountain and will continue to teach Math next year at RMMS! She had never even visited Idaho Falls prior to her interview. She moved here and she’s never left, now raising her own children here in District 93. She always wanted to become a teacher from the time she was in elementary school. In middle school and high school, she felt differently but then in college, her math teachers were her favorite! She loved learning again and knew that one day she would like to teach math and try to inspire her students to love math as well! Her favorite part about teaching is that middle school is a such a fun age! She truly loves all of her students both present and past. While Algebra is not always every student’s favorite subject, she tries to get them to at least enjoy class and learn regardless! She teaches because of all of these awesome kids. She loves running into former students and seeing the adults they are becoming or have become. When not teaching, she loves being a wife and a mom. She has two daughters and keeps busy with their sports schedules. She enjoys camping, boating, puzzles, reading, Netflix, gardening, yardwork, being with my family and time spent with her mom who lives with their family. She believes it's okay to make mistakes and that learning is about making mistakes and learning from our mistakes. A few quotes she lives by: "No one is perfect - that's why pencils have erasers” and “If you always do what you always did, you will always get what you always got."
